Influence of HR Division on Organizational Culture
One of the most significant aspects of a successful business is its solid organizational culture which contributes for the employee engagement and employee retention. In an organization with a solid culture, its employees have a clear idea regarding how they should act and they know that it is expected response in the organization. Briefly it is accepted way of how to behave in the organization.
What is organizational culture?
In organizations where there is a strong culture, values are given an utmost place in operations of the organization. A strong culture is a main factor that influences the productivity, efficiency and overall success of the organization.
A set of values, objectives and practices which direct the behaviour of employees can be introduced as organizational culture. It is the collection of values which makes the organization what it is. Company’s culture is revealed through the actions of its employers and employees and their relationship with the environment.

How can HR team develop organizational culture?
A strong organizational culture is one of the main features of successful businesses. A huge responsibility lies with the HR team in building sustainable organizational culture.
Ø HR managers can analyse the contemporary culture, and identify the gaps or chances. Then strategies can be formed based on evaluated results to fill the identified gaps and get the maximum usage from existing values.
Ø Requirements can be done in alliance with the organization’s culture. It is clear a factor that individuals who is selected as employees have a huge effect on the culture. And also organizational culture can be built to attract the talented employees.
Ø Implementation of compensation and reward schemes is another way. This can be used as an encouraging strategy to motivate the identified values. Reward scheme can be applied not only to the performance and productivity, but also as a motivator for expected behavior. As an example if any company is an environmental friendly one, employees can be rewarded for environmental friendly behavior.
Ø Managers, supervisors and other leaders can be updated through training and development to meet the aim of achieving expected organizational culture.
Ø Strengthening the relationship between employers and employees. Contributing positively for the resolution of conflicts, implementing proper communication and also representing for both employers and employees help in shaping up solid organizational culture.
Ø Caring about the measures on safety of the employees. Training on safety measures, evacuation plans, etc. are important.
Ø Performance management -Use of performance management tools by the HR department will be effective in creating organizational culture. A proper performance management system will emphasis on working smarter, instead of the usual pattern of working harder or longer. It will also directed employees by providing them with the necessary technological tools to aid them in various roles.(Aaron ,2017)

Organizational culture plays a major role in the functions and operations of a business. And also the actions and decisions of the HR leaders have a direct impact on organizational culture. (Mayhew, n.d.) HR department has the responsibility in planning and implementing policies regarding recruitments, training and development, rewards and compensation, employee relations, etc.
